For beginners, another great resource is the "Beginner's Corner" series in the newsletters here as well.

Yes Edward, and those are perfect for beginners like me and most important this information you will get for free. Before I spend money to get info from the net I would rather buy a good book.

I know that Edward Troxel website is great , really good , in fact I have learning many editing tricks & tips. I just mencioned the site above because I find that is more structured then this one and for 20 bucks is much cheaper then a book. I do not think that everything should be free even this site there is a lot work envolved. Ask for Sony support and probably you need to buy an expensive plan to get help. Funny.

I agree, not everything should be free. That's why I'm charging for Excalibur - I've put a LOT of work into it. I have not researched that site (and, in fact, did not know it existed). Thanks for pointing it out.

I am new to Vegas. I just bought my GS500 and plan to do video for our trip & training clients. We run a small paddlesport shop in Northern Illinois.

After much research I decided on Vegas. My son, who is a final cut person & a graphics arts major, is impressed with its capabilities.

I found this site: http://www.vtc.com/cd/vegas6.htm

It has the first 15 or so chapters of their training available for free. The rest is available for purchase. It looks to be a great start for beginners to learn about work flow and getting started.
