I'm starting my last year to finish my Information & Decision Systems degree, and all my classes for this coming year are on systems, networks, and programming. I'm going to start messing around with scripts in Vegas with videos of friends & family.

My question is: I've already taken classes, and will take a couple more, in vb.net & Java, so what do you all suggest I focus more on for the purpose of writing effective scripts in Vegas? I don't think I'm going to have to do any C-language work in my classwork, but I'm open to all suggestions.

Very cool forum (I like the relaxing color scheme Wink

Scripts can be written in JScript, VBScript, or C# (and, presumably, VB.Net could be used but I'm not totally sure). I tend to use C# at this point.

If I'm writing a quickie just to get something done, I'll tend to use JScript instead. Writing a full C# (dlls can now be executed directly in Vegas) allow extra features such as code-completion.

Take a look at vol 4 #3 of the newsletters for an article on coding in C# for Vegas 6 and also look over the C# forum here.
