Good issue as always.
It was good to talk to you. Hope you have a chance to come out to Los Angeles. _________________ Marc Bowyer

I'm using Vegas just for a couple of months, so I'm really new to it, used to edit with Avid and Pinnacle. By a tip of an other enthousiastic Vegas user I found your very usefull Newsletter site.
Another purpose of your described "Kids in the picture" effect, is to animate a plane that flies over a map between two cities. By animating the shadow you can simulate take off and landing.
I published a demo of this effect on a Dutch Pinnacle users site.
The demo gives an animation of my flight from Munich to Kathmandu with a stop in Doha.
It can be seen on http://www.jr-video.nl/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=96&Itemid=76 and is named "Namaste Nepal" and was created with a trial of Vegas 5. |

Theo,
Ofcourse I saw that example already when you placed it. But now that I see it again: Which lettertype did you use? _________________ Greetings

Hoi Kees, what do you mean "Which lettertype did you use?"? _________________ Theo Houben

| Nice use of the technique! You're right, the shadow really added in that case. |

Hello,
I want to use the Kid in the picture technique. I have dont what you said to the image: erase everything in the picture except what you want to move in the finished video. But when i preview the video white part of the video does not let the original picture show through. Thank you. Paul |

| On the part I moved, I didn't make the background area "white" - I made it "Transparent". If used white, change it to transparent or maybe use the chromakey effect to get rid of the white (assiming the part you're moving doesn't have any white in it). |
