Thanks for all the great information Ed
One thing I'm a little disappointed with when it comes to Vegas is the fast-motion. As a previous Premiere user, it was so easy to right click, enter a percentage increase value in the field, hit enter, and bingo... you had a wicked fast-motion. True time-lapse (i.e., a complete frame-set, without using the interval timer function on the camera) looked great. With Vegas, even a coupling of the playback speed cranked up to 4x and a velocity envelope maxed out at 300% (which I'm assuming brings it up to 1200x) looks only slightly faster. How do I get a very fast, dramatic, dynamic look, with couds whisping by and the sun setting at supersonic speeds? You know the look I'm talking about!!!!! |

Yes, Velocity + Playback Rate will give you up to a 12x (or 1200%) speed increase. To go beyond that, you have two ways:
1) render your 12x clip, bring it back to the timeline, and 12x it again. Repeat until you get it fast enough.
2) Use the "Time Bandit" tool in Excalibur or the Veggie Toolkit to get the speed you want without intermediate renders. |
