|
|
Seems that Vegas is freezing up when I attempt to render out to Apple Ipod Video (320x240) through Veggie Toolkit.
I have a queue of about 100 different 3-minute videos and sub-audio tracks, which I am rendering to various formats (WMV, MPEG2, AC3, IPOD) and vegas stops rendering in the middle of the Ipod queue. I should note that I do this process every week with different videos, and it never stops in the same spot...sometimes it stops at video #23, sometimes it stops at video #90. Every other format works fine with the same videos, it's just those darned Ipods...
I can go back and manually export the individual video (and the subsequent videos as well)) to Ipod through vegas and it works fine.
Just so you know, Vegas continues to count up with the elapsed time, but the % stops. So I guess Vegas doesn't "freeze" per se.
My system specs:
*Vegas Pro 8.0
*Veggie Toolkit 3.0c
*Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
*Windows XP Pro SP3
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!!!

Jeff,
I will try to help you with this. Which codec and template are you using for the iPod video? Also, if you could run MultiRender in trace mode so that I can see if it is causing the hang that would be appreciated. To do so:
Hold down CTRL and SHIFT while starting Vegas 8. Continue to hold it until you get a message that verbose tracing has been turned on for the Veggie Toolkit. Make a note of the name of the trace file.
Run MultiRender until it hangs, then stop it and send the trace file to me via the contact page at: http://www.peachrock.com/about/contact.html
Thanks,

Hi Randall,
I am using the "Main Concept AVC/AAC" codec using the "Apple Ipod Video 320x240 small" template.
I will try what you suggested and contact you with the results. Unfortunately I am only at the workstation on the weekend (as we are a traveling show) but I will contact you with the results on Monday. Thank you for your time.
Regards,

Just a word of warning:
Holding CTRL+SHIFT while starting Vegas will reset all preferences to default so you'll also have to go back and change any you want changed again. It's not a big deal but you WILL have to redo any changes you've made to the settings. |

Actually, Vegas Pro 8 will promt if you want to reset your options when you hold down CTRL/SHIFT. You can easily choose No to not reset your options.
